Julipet was born in Bologna in 1954, as a small artisan company specialized in pyjamas and men’s underwear. Its name comes from the combination of the two founders, Giuliani and Pettazzoni. In the seventies Julipet's comics advertising, entrusted to actor Umberto Orsini showed a woman chasing a man in boxer contribiuting to make the brand famous and making it synonymous with excellence.
In 2019 the company was acquired by Trucco Tessile Spa - already owner of the brand Alpina and Boglietti - which implemented a relaunch strategy. Strengths: the highest quality of yarns and fabrics, the contemporary style, but above all an innovative vision of nightwear and underwear. With the new collections the concept of "loungewear" and "in & out" was born: outfits to be worn not only at home with maximum comfort for every moment of the day.
For Julipet today it would be overly simplistic to talk about underwear: every garment is the result of a research over materials, cuts and details worthy of a couturier. One example is the range of men's underwear that reaches its highest point with the "J-boxer" proposal.
Next to the collection, the women universe has recently been explored, suggesting refined silk fabric garments where creativity continues to express itself through designs and fantasies. Also several young designers joined the brand to create the "artist edition" capsule collections, Ironic and unexpected for an underwear brand. The same style - elegant and sometimes transgressive - that embodies the first Julipet flagship store, opened in via Verri, in Milan in the heart of the fashion district.
